Bloks vs ChatGPT dots
ChatGPT dots are always-on agents inside ChatGPT, each working on a cloud computer of its own. Bloks agents live on your own machine, on the engines you pick, with memory in files you can read.
- Bloks ahead on 7
- ChatGPT dots ahead on 2
- Even on 6
The short answer
Which one is for you
Choose Bloks ifOur pick
- You use Codex or Claude Code and want agents on the plan you already pay for, without moving up to Pro.
- You live in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, where ChatGPT Pro is not offered.
- You want undo, and memory as files you can read and edit.
- You want your agents, their conversations and their memory on your own computer.
- You want to pick the engine: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, the Grok CLI or a local model through Ollama.
Choose ChatGPT dots if
- You want an agent that keeps working on its own cloud computer while yours is off.
- You already pay for ChatGPT Pro, which includes dots, and want nothing new to install.
- You want it in Microsoft Teams as well as Slack, or by text over iMessage or RCS (a US beta).
- Your company needs data residency and compliance logging on ChatGPT Enterprise.

Who can use it, and on what plan
BloksBetter
Bloks is a download for Mac, Windows and Linux, with no account to make. It runs on the engines you already have: the ChatGPT plan behind a Codex sign-in, the Claude plan behind Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor and more, or a key of yours. So if you use Codex, your agents can run on the plan you already pay for. Paid plans add reach from anywhere, people and an included AI; see pricing.

ChatGPT dots
Dots come with ChatGPT Pro, from $100 a month and billed monthly, and with eligible Business Premium, Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare workspaces; Enterprise gets them on by default from 18 November 2026. Free, Go and Plus do not include them. Pro is for people over 18, and it is not offered in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.
Always on, in OpenAI's cloud
Bloks
Bloks agents live on your computer and pause when it does, unless they run on a server of yours with bloks-server, or on managed hosting, a private machine of your own that stays on. An agent can still have a computer of its own, a cloud box or a Local VM, and a browser you can watch and take over.

ChatGPT dotsBetter
A dot runs between conversations on a cloud computer and browser of its own, apart from yours, and keeps going with your computer off. You can take over a step, and a site that blocks it can be tried again on a computer of yours connected through the desktop app. It reports back, or asks you when a decision is yours.
Memory, data and undo
BloksBetter
An agent's memory in Bloks is Markdown: MEMORY.md and a folder of notes you can open, read, edit and back up, with a journal of every change and an undo. Its conversations and files stay on your computer. Anything it changes in your files can be undone, a conversation can be rewound, and any answer can be branched.

ChatGPT dots
A dot starts from your ChatGPT memory, then keeps notes of its own, apart from saved memory. A way to view or edit those notes is not published, and they cannot be deleted one at a time while the dot exists. Chats, memory and notes last as long as the dot and are gone within 30 days of deleting it; snapshots have no set maximum age without data residency or enterprise key management.
There is no undo: stopping or deleting a dot does not reverse what it already did.
Reaching your agents
Bloks
The iPhone and Apple Watch app is the main way in when you are away, on your own network or anywhere with Bloks Cloud, sealed end to end. Agents also answer on Telegram and Signal, in Slack, Discord and WhatsApp groups, and by email, and you can call an agent or a whole room.

ChatGPT dots
Dots live in the ChatGPT apps on your phone and desktop, and in Slack and Microsoft Teams, where a dot answers only you unless told to bring others in. You can call it from the app, and Pro users in the US can text it over iMessage or RCS in a beta. WhatsApp, Telegram and email are not published.
