Your Claude plan, two ways

Bloks

Bloks runs Claude Code as an engine, and Claude Code always uses your own Claude plan or key, so a Claude subscription you pay for is the plan your agents use. The same agent can switch to Codex on your ChatGPT plan, or to Gemini CLI, Cursor and the rest, and a backup engine takes over when one hits a limit. You can also add a second Claude Code account, and the workspace moves to it when the first runs out.

Claude Cowork

Cowork is part of Claude itself, on every paid plan from Pro up, and it is merging with chat into one message box. It runs on Claude models only, and Anthropic says it uses your limits faster than chat does. Companies on their own cloud can route it through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud, Microsoft Foundry or a gateway of their own.

Safety and undo

BloksBetter

An agent in Bloks asks before it acts, unless you tell it not to, and you can write a rule in a sentence ("never push to main"). Commands that can delete or overwrite work are flagged and get no shortcut. Anything an agent changes in your files can be undone, a conversation can be rewound with its files, and any answer can be branched to try another way.

A changes card in Bloks: the files an agent changed, each one with Undo

Claude Cowork

Cowork has mature approvals: Manual, Auto, which screens each action and blocks unsafe ones, or Skip. Permanent file deletion always needs your say, files are limited to the folders you connect, and each connector tool can be allowed, held for approval or blocked.

There is no undo, and Anthropic's own advice is to keep backups. A way of handling secrets is not published.

Memory and where it lives

Bloks

An agent's memory in Bloks is Markdown: MEMORY.md and a folder of notes, in a folder on your computer you can open, edit and back up. Memory, on the main rail, shows every agent's files, a shared memory every agent reads, and a journal of every change with an undo. Each workspace keeps its own.

Claude Cowork

Cowork shares memory with chat for cloud tasks, while tasks that stay local keep their own. You can view, edit and delete what it remembers in Settings, pause or reset it, give each project its own, and turn it off for a task. Cloud sessions, and the local files they open, are processed on Anthropic's servers.

Where Cowork is ahead

Bloks

Bloks agents pause when your computer does, unless they run on a server of yours with bloks-server, or on managed hosting. Routines run where Bloks runs. Bloks for Android is coming, but not out yet.

Claude CoworkBetter

Cowork reaches both ways: cloud tasks and scheduled tasks keep going with your computer off, and the desktop app gives it your local files, a browser and computer use. It is already in the Claude apps on the web, desktop and phone, and Team and Enterprise add role-based access, group spend limits and compliance exports. Those are real reasons to choose it.

Questions

Bloks and Claude Cowork: questions

Is Bloks a Claude Cowork alternative?

Yes. Both run agents that work across your files and tools. Cowork runs in Anthropic's cloud or through the Claude desktop app; Bloks keeps agents on your own machine, on the engines you pick, with undo and memory in files you can read.

Can I use my Claude subscription with Bloks?

Yes. Bloks runs Claude Code as an engine, and Claude Code always uses your own Claude plan or key. A Codex sign-in brings your ChatGPT plan the same way.

Can Cowork undo what it did?

No; Anthropic advises keeping backups. In Bloks, anything an agent changes in your files can be undone, and a conversation can be rewound or branched.

Does Cowork keep working when my laptop is closed?

Its cloud tasks and scheduled tasks do. Local files, the browser and computer use need the desktop app open. Bloks agents pause with your computer, unless they run on a server of yours or on managed hosting.

Can I use models other than Claude?

Not in Cowork: other makers' models and local models are not published. Bloks runs Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, the Grok CLI and more, any OpenAI-compatible host, and Ollama.

Can agents in Cowork work as a team?

Cowork runs sub-agents in parallel inside one task; agents messaging each other is not published. In Bloks, agents share rooms with a lead, message each other, and hire help with your yes.
